Each fall between sports seasons science teacher Charlie Scimone organizes a dodgeball tournament in the LA gym. Any student who wants can play, and usually at least 100 students opt in. Mr. Scimone chooses teams, and the tournament takes place after school one day. Dodgeball battles are fun, and hard fought. There is a big student audience. The final two teams are chosen during the after school tournament, and get to play in front of the entire school at the next Community Meeting. This past Friday, November 14, was the 2014 LA Dodgeball finals, played in front of nearly 600 fans. While the teams were fairly evenly matched, in the end Team 8, the Black Panthers, dressed in all black, was victorious. We can’t wait till next year!
