National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) has inspired hundreds of thousands of people all over the world to write a novel in the month of November. This year it inspired students right here at Lincoln Academy.
In the fall of 2014 Lincoln Academy senior Audrey Harper started a writing club with the goal of participating in NaNoWriMo. The group’s long term mission is to provide a supportive community to in which to both write and share writing, but in November, students focused on writing a novel.
Club advisor Seth Anderson says, “The Writing Club provides a safe place for students to share their writing and offer each other criticism as well as strategies such as naming characters, choosing point of view, and composing dialogue. The club is also discussing options to establish a forum for students to publish, perhaps an e-magazine.”
The writing club meets every Thursday, and welcomes new student members to join any time!
