Selected Band and Choir students performed at the Maine Music Educator’s District 3 Honor Festival on February 6 and 7 at Camden Hills Regional High School. They had rehearsals both days with guest conductors and gave their final performances at the Strom Auditorium to a packed house. “It’s so great for the kids to be able to sing and play with all those other kids in such a beautiful facility,” said Beth Preston, Lincoln Academy Choral Director. According the Liz Matta, Band Director, the festival was supposed to take place the previous week, but was cancelled due to the storm. “We were lucky that most of the kids could go to the festival,” said Matta.
“There were KVAC tournaments, a Debate tourney, and an MUN meet that prevented some of our students from attending. Course registration is coming right up and we hope that many of our current students and incoming 8th graders will sign up for Band or Choir next year!”
