Lincoln Academy flutist Nancy Billings was among the talented group of middle- and high- school students who joined the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra to perform the Chadwick Jubilee, in the “Side-by-Side” portion of their concert last weekend. These 16 selected young musicians from 8 towns in southern and midcoast Maine augmented all sections of the orchestra: strings (violin, string bass), woodwinds (flute, clarinet, bass clarinet), brass (French horn, trumpet, trombone) and percussion. The students performed with the symphony on Saturday, January 24 in Lewiston and on Sunday, January 25, in Topsham under the music direction of Rohan Smith. Nancy played with her private teacher, Linda Brunner from Walpole.
