Visual art teacher Jonathan Mess at a recent ceramics field trip.

Recent Lincoln Academy graduate Angus Fake made created this video profile of LA visual art teacher Jonathan Mess, and his current art project that involves repurposing waste from pottery studios into his own sculpture. Angus, who plans to study industrial design at Pratt Institute after a gap year, made this video as his final project for Lincoln Academy’s Digital Media class.  “I wanted to show that Lincoln Academy has something special that a lot of people don’t know about. Mr. Mess, the ceramic arts teacher, is not only an amazing teacher, he is also a practicing artist with ongoing projects and art in multiple galleries. Through the video I hoped to show another side of my art teacher.”
