Lincoln Academy has sponsored a Buzz-kin baby pumpkin, currently growing at Pinkham’s Plantation in preparation for Pumkinfest October 9-12.

Lincoln Academy is the proud sponsor of a baby giant pumpkin! This “Buzz-kin” is currently growing from a tiny sprout into a giant 700 pound pumpkin that will be part of October’s Pumpkinfast celebration in Damariscotta. Pumpkin fans can follow the Buzz-kin’s growth on the Maine Department of Agriculture’s Pumpkin Cam. Several non-profits in the area, including Coastal Kids Preschool, Healthy Kids, Mobius, Lincoln County Dental, and New Hope for Women, are also sponsoring a baby pumpkin.

In addition to sponsoring a Buzz-kin, Lincoln Academy will participate in Pumkinfest in other ways, including decorating a giant pumpkin campus, marching in the Pumpkin Parade and providing student volunteers to various events at Pumpkinfest. This year’s festival takes October 9-12, 2015.
