48 Lincoln Academy students have been accepted to the Maine Music Education Association’s District III Honor’s Festival.  Over 534 students from 24 High Schools auditioned at Oak Hill High School on October, 19.

Students who audition for Band must play three scales from memory, perform a prepared piece and sight-read a song during a six minute audition.  Percussionists sight-read, play a prepared solo piece and play a second prepared piece that includes eight different percussion instruments. Vocalists learn an Art Song in Italian, sing a major scale on solfege syllables, and sight-sing music that they have not seen in advance.
