The four UMaine Orono students from the VEMI Lab, (left to right) – Tim, Kendra, Toni and Brenden will be at Lincoln Academy for the Teen Science Cafe on February 23.

Teens in the Midcoast Region are invited to share a virtual treat with three experienced student presenters from the University of Maine at Orono at the next CLC STEM Guides Teen Science Cafe on Tuesday, February 23, 5:30 – 7:30PM, in the ATEC Building, on the LA Campus. UMaine’s Orono campus has the only virtual reality laboratory in Maine, a Virtual Environment and Multimodal Interaction (VEMI) Lab.

What’s coming to Newcastle is a bag of amazing tricks, some of them highly practical and some just very intriguing. We guarantee that participants will experience things they never have before. The presenters will also share their stories as to how and why they were drawn to the VEMI Lab. For more background on the VEMI Lab, visit their website www.vemilab.org.

Thai and Chinese food will be provided by Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance’s STEM Guides project. Bring a friend! The event is FREE. All are welcome, though this Teen Science Café is geared specifically to teens. Door prizes!
