The Lincoln Academy Guidance Office is offering a Sophomore and Junior Family Night on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Alumni Dining Commons (storm date March 9th). This meeting will focus on post-secondary education information as the college application process is quite detailed and complex. A panel of four to five college admissions personnel, including representatives from Colby College, the University of Maine, the University of New England, and the University College at Rockland (URock) will be here to talk about the process and to answer any questions that you may have.
This year is important for juniors, particularly as they plan for the future, and we will work closely with them to develop a plan that is appropriate. It is also a good time for sophomores to begin thinking about life after high school. We recognize that not everyone will be going on to college, and we are available to work individually with students developing other plans, such as seeking employment or joining the military.
One of the first steps in the college application process is taking the SATs. This letter is also serving as an early notification that sophomores have the opportunity to take the PSAT 10 on Tuesday, March 14th for a fee of $15.00. Also, all juniors will be taking the SAT on Wednesday, April 5th for no charge.
