All juniors who are day students will take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Held at Lincoln Academy, juniors will be tested in critical reading, writing and mathematics. In addition to the April 5th test, on Monday, April 10th, these juniors will take an augmentation test in science. Together with the SAT, these tests serve as the grade 11 Maine Educational Assessment (MEA) for secondary students.

This requirement is intended to raise academic expectations and to increase readiness for college or other post-secondary opportunities. Students will receive standard SAT reports and official scores that they may use as they apply to college. All colleges using SAT results in their admission process will accept the scores.

For the SAT, students should arrive at the Lincoln Academy gymnasium on Wednesday, April 5th no later than 7:45am.  Students should bring #2 pencils, a calculator, their SAT admission ticket and a photo ID.  Testing for the SAT should be finished around 1:00pm at which time juniors will be dismissed from school.

Taking this test is a State of Maine requirement, and we appreciate your cooperation.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at the Guidance Office.
