Local author Shannon Parker will be the guest at Lincoln Academy’s January Books and Brunch program.

This event has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 23, same time in the LA library.

On Wednesday, January 17 the Lincoln Academy Library will host local author Shannon Parker as part of the LA Books and Brunch program.

Books and Brunch participants, who include Lincoln Academy students, faculty, and community members, have read Parker’s 2017 book The Rattled Bones in anticipation of a discussion with the author over lunch, which takes place from 11:30 to 1:00 in the LA library.

The Rattled Bones is Parker’s second young adult book published by Simon & Schuster. It is a contemporary story set in midcoast Maine, and features a teenage female main character who is a lobster boat captain. The book has elements of mystery, historical fiction (tied to the history of Malaga Island), and ghost story.

The Books and Brunch themed lunch will be prepared by chef Mikael Andersson of the Lincoln Academy Dining Services and will include Lobster Stew, Corn Chowder, Garden Salad, Grandma’s Biscuits, and Blueberry Cake. As is the tradition of Lincoln Academy Books and Brunch, community members are welcome to join the discussion.
