We started this week with the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and a big winter storm. With the snowy weather came opportunities for sledding and cozy indoor games, but also the chores of shoveling, clearing ice and removing debris. We are very proud of our students who, in the spirit of service and justice of Dr. King, went out after the storm to assist elderly and disabled community members. Many hands made light work to clear the icy snow from paths and driveways and all agreed that it was wonderful to be of service to neighbors in need.
Grades: Teachers are finalizing mid-trimester progress reports this week and you should be receiving an update on your student’s grades by email in our next communication. This mid-way point in the trimester is a great time to be in touch with your son or daughter about their academic progress and goals.
Testing: Sophomores have an opportunity to take a Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) on March 19 at Lincoln Academy. This test is optional and offered only to 10th graders as a practice for the standard SAT. Any interested students need to sign-up with their homeroom advisor no later than March 5th. More information on student testing can be found on here: https://www.lincolnacademy.org/college-board-and-esol-testing/
Vacation Plans: Thank you to all of the students and families who have confirmed their plans for the upcoming February vacation. The dormitories will be closed for this school vacation. We still have a few spaces remaining for the Kieve-Wavus Winter Vacation Camp for students who will not travel. The final school vacation of the year is April 13-21, 2019. To register your student for the Kieve-Wavus Winter or Spring Break Camps or the new College Tour being offered by Lincoln Academy, please follow this link: https://www.lincolnacademy.org/vacation-programming/
