Four LA students were named as Students of the Semester at the Bath Regional Career and Technical Center (BRCTC). Seniors Damon Crummett, Parker Gilbert, Ben Carter, and Julia Gemeinhardt were all honored at a recent breakfast celebrating BRCTC student excellence.
At the ceremony, BRCTC presenters used quotes from teachers to describe each student award winner.
Senior Damon Crummett is a second year student in the Automotive program. His teacher wrote that he is “an excellent student in the classroom and in the shop. He follows directions, asks questions, performs his works as assigned, has a great attitude and works well with others. Damon has clear goals and seems to necessary attributes that will lead to a successful and rewarding career.”
Parker Gilbert is a second year Carpentry student. His teacher wrote, “Parker started off this school year by stating that he planned to take it more seriously than last year, an from day one he has achieved that goal. Parker has been self-motivated and has managed to stay on task each day this year. He has demonstrated leadership skills by encouraging his classmates to follow his lead and complete tasks on time. He also steps up to offer support to classmates as needed. I am looking forward to watching Parker continue to grow as a student, carpenter, and overall young man.”
Ben Carter is a senior in the Culinary program. His teacher wrote: “What a great addition Ben Carter is to the afternoon culinary class. He arrived eager to learn to cook and bake. When doing layer cakes he is a natural. He is always willing to help out and assist in the class as needed, and happy to take on any job as necessary to get the work done!”
Julia Gemeinhardt is a senior in the Medical Science program. Her teacher wrote: “Julia is very motivated and diligent with a great work ethic. Not only does she come to class prepared, but she is very compassionate and considerate of others. This will serve her well in the future as she pursues her career in the medical field.”
