Lincoln Academy senior Kayleigh Tolley will perform her senior recital on May 10 at 7 pm at St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle
Kayleigh Tolley, 18, a senior at Lincoln Academy, will be holding a Senior Recital at St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle on Friday, May 10th at 7pm. Kayleigh has grown up on stage in the mid coast area dancing, singing, and acting beginning with the Nutcracker Ballet with Midcoast Dance Studio at the age of three, continuing with nearly hundreds of dance, choral, and theater productions with the Waldo Theater, Damariscotta Montessori School, Lincoln Academy, Heartwood Regional Theater, Lincoln County Community Theater, StudioRed, St. Patrick’s Church, Tapestry Singers, and Boothbay Y-Arts.
Kayleigh has studied voice with Beth Preston since elementary school and in her sophomore year began training in classical voice. In the last three years, she has competed in the NATS musical festival competition at Bates College in both musical theater and classical singing styles, and has been chosen as a finalist and/or won her division each year. She has participated in the Districts and All States Music Festivals all four years of high school. After a summer vocal intensive last year with Artsbridge at the University of Minnesota, she began exploring colleges and conservatories where she could explore her love of classical singing. She was accepted into all the programs where she applied, but Kayleigh chose Oberlin College and Conservatory to continue her studies this fall. Kayleigh currently sings with the Lincoln Academy Lincolnaires, Tapestry Singers, and St. Patrick’s Church Choir, where she also serves as a cantor at mass. She is excited to share some of her favorite songs with her family, friends, and community at her Senior Recital at St. Patrick’s Church. Admission on May 10th at 7pm is free, although donations will be accepted at the door for some of Kayleigh’s favorite charitable causes.
