The 2019 Lincoln Academy yearbook was dedicated to LA English teacher Bryan Manahan during a presentation by yearbook staff on Friday, May 10.

The Lincoln Academy Yearbook staff dedicated the 2019 Lincolnian Yearbook to English teacher Bryan Manahan. Yearbook co-editor Schuyler Farrell said in her dedication that Mr. Manahan is “a teacher who has taught us about more than just a classroom subject… a mentor to many, someone who supports students without letting them off the hook, who is always there to pick people up, who is willing to explore, has a great sense of humor, is a caring father and friend.”

Farrell went on to say of Manahan, whose daughter Isabelle died in a car accident in June of 2018 at the end of her ninth grade year, “Mr. Manahan has taught this community very important life lessons by opening himself up in a terrible time in his life. This teacher showed us it’s okay to grieve without shutting himself off.”

In addition to Schuyler Farrell, the 2019 LA yearbook staff consists of seniors Alison York (co-editor) and Sophie Gamage, Isabelle Sawyer, Abigail Andrews, and Paige Adams. The yearbook is now on sale in the Lincoln Academy library annex every day during lunch.
