The Pet Show is one of the most exciting events in Lincoln Academy’s Spring Festival on May 18th this year. This is a very special open event where people can see the cute pets steal the show. The Pet Show will be happening on the upper field of Lincoln Academy from 12:30pm- 2am. The show is free and open to everyone to register and watch. People can walk their pets, show some cool tricks and have the opportunity to win some prizes.

There will be three judges in the Pet Show who will decide the prizes of the competition. There is a total of 7 categories: “Best hair”, “Best walk”, “Best costume”, “Best trick”, “Best eyes”, ‘Best name” and “Most colorful.” We also welcome all audience members and pet show participants to vote on their favorite pet to win the “Most popular pet” award. To register your pet, please email William Doan (doanhw@lincolnacademy.org) to receive the registration form and more information. In the registration form, there are several rules for the pets and the owners such as all the pets need to on the leash and owners need to clean up if their pets make a mess. There is no registration fee. Owners need to turn in the registration form in the registration table or online by 12:15pm (15 minutes before the show starts). We are really looking forward to seeing lots of beautiful pets in the Pet Show this year.

“Food is the ingredient that binds us together.” We could not have a great colorful festival of many exciting events on campus without the food, ice cream and deserts. At Spring Festival this year, outside the dining commons, where all the colorful tulips are shining in the sunshine, there will be a number of options for lunch. The food party will starts at around 10am and go until 1pm. “Blazing Tomato” is a very famous food truck which was a part of many different fairs and festivals will sell really yummy pizzas. People can have the hot fresh slices right after they are out from the oven. Another food truck will be selling a variety of delicious sandwiches to satisfy even the pickiest people. And what is more wonderful than having famous Round Top Ice Cream in a lovely sunny day? Ice Cream lovers should definitely stop by the Round Top Ice Cream table and give yourself a sweet treat of the day. There will be also other options such as hotdogs, and more to satisfy everyone. Furthermore, clubs at Lincoln Academy will offer a bake sale with great desserts. A bounce house will be available for children.

There will be open performances to satisfy visitors with music performances on what we hope will a gorgeous, sunny day. The Open Mic session will start at 10:30 am with Lauren Crosby, who teaches English teacher at Lincoln Academy, who will perform some of her original songs. We are also hoping to have more performances in the festival. If you are interested in performing, please email William Doan (doanhw@lincolnacademy.org). If you have any instrument or equipment requests, let us know and we will do our best to make it happen.

Spring Festival is also a great place for people who enjoy Art to see many different students’ masterpieces from pottery to very high-quality paintings. A lot of their artwork will be displayed in the courtyard and sold in the silent auction. Spring Festival T-shirts will be sold to fund the festival. This is also an amazing opportunity for middle school students and local community members to get involved and learn more about Lincoln Academy, especially about the international students from 19 different countries around the world.

Lincoln Academy welcomes everyone to come to our first Spring Festival. It will be a fun day for the community to celebrate the spring with lots of exciting activities on campus. Spring Festival is where friends become family!
