If you are looking for something fun for you and your family to do this weekend, Lincoln Academy Spring Festival is a great place to spend a Saturday morning participating in many different exciting activities on campus and celebrating lovely colorful season: spring. On May 18th from 10am to 2pm, Lincoln Academy campus will be expected to host 200 to 400 people from the community and become a place where friends become family.

Spring in Maine is such a lovely season. After a long winter, all the snow has melted. And now there is space for flowers to bloom, and the trees start turning green. The school turf and tennis court will be open for a Frisbee Tournament and Tennis Tournament. Both tournament will be free and open for all ages and genders to sign up. It’s never too late to sign up. Please email William Doan (doanhw@lincolnacademy.org) or Emily Harris (harrisej@lincolnacademy.org).

Outside the dining commons, where all the colorful tulips are shining in the sunshine, food trucks and the dining hall staff will offer a number of options for lunch. “Food is the ingredient that binds us together.” The food party will starts at around 10am and go until 1pm.

Here is the great news for “Pizza lovers.” “Blazing Tomato” is a famous food truck which was a part of many different fairs and festivals will sell really yummy pizzas. People can have the hot fresh slices right after they are out from the oven. In addition to pizza, there will be sandwiches, hotdogs, Round Top Ice Cream and, and a bake sale run by student clubs.

A free bounce house will be available for children to spend time enjoying a memorable festival. In addition, there will be open performances to satisfy visitors with wonderful music performances. Recording artist and LA English teacher Lauren Crosby will perform her original songs. After the music performances, the audience will have a chance to watch the Pet Show in the upper field where beautiful pets will steal the show and compete for prizes. We would love to see all the gorgeous pets to be on the show.

Organizers hope that many middle school students and local community members will have a chance to visit campus and learn more about Lincoln Academy, especially about the international students from 19 different countries around the world.

The Pet Show will be happening on the upper field of Lincoln Academy from 12:30pm- 2am. The show is free and open to everyone to register and watch. People can walk their pets, show some cool tricks and have the opportunity to win some prizes. There will be three judges in the Pet Show who will decide the prizes of the competition. There is a total of 7 categories: “Best hair”, “Best walk”, “Best costume”, “Best trick”, “Best eyes”, ‘Best name” and “Most colorful.” We also welcome all audience members and pet show participants to vote on their favorite pet to win the “Most popular pet” award. To register your pet, please email William Doan (doanhw@lincolnacademy.org) to receive the registration form and more information. In the registration form, there are several rules for the pets and the owners such as all the pets need to on the leash and owners need to clean up if their pets make a mess. There is no registration fee. Owners need to turn in the registration form in the registration table or online by 12:15pm (15 minutes before the show starts).
