Building community is the foundation of the Residential Life Program at Lincoln Academy – be it through joining student clubs and teams, volunteering, mentoring another student, participating in group activities – everyone is encouraged to get involved in dorm life, the greater school campus, and beyond. This week LA celebrates Homecoming, a time when neighbors and alumni come to campus for traditional activities including a parade and cheering on our sports teams. This is an excellent opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the culture and excitement of being an LA Eagle. This year’s theme is the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock and there is sure to be lots of music, tie dye and a festive atmosphere on campus!
This past week the Resident Life program offered outings to Boothbay Harbor and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, a tour of colleges in the Boston Area and all Residential Life students visited nearby Glidden Point Oyster Farm for a tasting and introduction to the region’s aquaculture industry. There were also informal nighttime soccer matches and the Newcastle Fire Department visited campus and students got to speak to volunteer firefighters and checkout one of the fire trucks.
