Homecoming Weekend 2019 has been filled with athletic competitions, flower crowns, a parade, bonfire, dancing, decorations, performances and other events.  This year’s theme of the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock gave students and staff an opportunity to show both their LA Pride and love of bright tie-dye colors.  In the Resident Life Program we are continuing to emphasize building community with activities that intentionally foster camaraderie within our diverse group of teens.  We want students at LA to become comfortable building friendships with people from any background.

College Visits: LA’s Guidance and Residential Life Offices are teaming up to offer students a number of opportunities to visit college campuses this fall, including a day-trip to the University of Maine in Orono and a multi-day trip to tour East Coast universities.   Photos and more information from a recent trip to Boston Area schools can be seen here:  https://www.lincolnacademy.org/2019/09/residential-students-tour-boston-area-colleges-with-mr-cordero-la-guidance-counselor/

Grades:  Mid-Trimester Progress Reports will be processed on Oct 15th.  Please be in touch with your student about their academic goals and progress.  Our online student information system, PowerSchool and online learning management tool, Canvas will provide families with academic updates throughout the year.  Let us know if you need any assistance with your online registration.  More details and video tutorials here:

Thanksgiving Break:  There will be no classes November 25 – 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday, however the dorms will remain open.  Resident Life organizes special activities for students who remain on campus including a holiday dinner at Camp Kieve, an opportunity to enjoy Maine Thanksgiving traditions with a local host family, a College tour and quintessential Black Friday shopping trip.   If your student will be traveling for this school vacation, please submit their travel plans via Boardingware .  Contact the Resident Life Office with any questions.
