As most Mainers get ready to celebrate the Christmas and New Year holidays, LA residential students have been sharing a little of their home holiday traditions and culture with area elementary schools. Earlier this year students from LA’s English for Speakers of Other Languages classes visited Georgetown Central School and recently Great Salt Bay Elementary School Students came to campus to attend cultural presentations. Our students from Rwanda and the Bahamas also hosted a “Freakmas” Dance sharing their Afro-Caribbean roots (and dance moves!) with our extended community.
Dormitories close at noon this Saturday for December break and most students will be traveling to visit with family or sightseeing here in the US. If your student has any changes in their travel itinerary, please notify the Resident Life Office as soon as possible. However you are celebrating the break, we wish all of our students and their families a restful and fun holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back at school in the New Year!
