January 7, 2020 Message from the Head of School
As you may be aware, Lincoln Academy faculty and students are participating in some special meetings this week. Monday’s late start for students allowed the faculty and staff to meet to review and discuss the fall and start to work on moving the LA community towards shared goals in 2020. This week’s Community Meeting will take place on Thursday instead of Friday to give us a chance to discuss the work we did as faculty and staff and introduce the ideas of shared goals with the student body.
The goals we are discussing begin with reducing discipline issues, taking care of our campus, and respecting each other in language and action. Once we have developed a shared set of goals we will begin the work of setting norms for our community to help us work collectively toward realizing these goals as a school.
On Thursday, January 9, at 6 pm in the LA library I invite local parents and community members to be part of this conversation by joining me and other members of the administration and faculty at the Lincoln Academy Parent Association (LAPA) Meeting in the LA Library. We will discuss what makes LA a safe community, and how we can continue to grow into an even safer and more welcoming place for everyone. I hope to see you there.
