Ruby Long ’21
Ceramics, Mr. Mess
ARTIST STATEMENT
My name is Ruby Long, I was raised in Warren, Maine for the majority of my childhood till my family and I moved to St. George to be closer with my grandmother. Growing up I was homeschooled along with my older brother until midway through seventh grade. When high school options came into play I decided to go to Lincoln Academy because of the art programs here. The ceramics studio especially drew me in although I didn’t know anything about clay work. Junior year was when I discovered clay, the ceramic world, and my new passion. I spend every possible moment I can working with clay. I plan on going to college to become an art therapist and continue selling and making pottery. I named all my pieces after some of my favorite Pokémon!
