All prospective students and their families are invited to Lincoln Academy’s 2020 Virtual Open House, which will be held as a Google Meeting on Tuesday, November 10 beginning at 6:00 pm.

This open house is an annual event at Lincoln Academy that helps incoming students become familiar with the LA campus and curriculum. Due to the circumstances in 2020 the event will be held virtually, and include an overview of the admissions process as well as a chance to interact with students, teachers, and guidance, admissions and athletics representatives. A virtual campus tour is available on the LA website.

This year, Lincoln Academy’s Prospective Student Open House will begin with an overview by current students and members of the Administration and Guidance Department. Next, families can move into virtual breakout rooms, where faculty and students are available to answer questions about departments, course selection, special education programs, and extracurriculars.

“2020 has presented us with plenty of opportunity to reinvent our traditions,” said Hilary Petersen, Associate Director of Admissions. “We hope that prospective families get a chance to learn more about what LA has to offer, even though we can’t host a face-to-face event this year.”

Families considering Lincoln Academy should plan to attend the Open House, even if they are considering several options for high school. This event is helpful in understanding the wide variety of resources at LA, including 145 total courses, 19 Advanced Placement classes, 30 classes in visual and performing arts, a broad range of hands-on courses in the Cable-Burns Applied Technology and Engineering Center (ATEC), as well as over 40 clubs and athletic teams.

Any student living in a town with secondary school choice can attend LA with their tuition paid by the sending town. LA also accepts tuition-paying students who come from towns without school choice.
