This is our last week of classes before the end of the first trimester. As students and teachers focus on completing final assignments for the grading period, I find myself reflecting on all the hard work that has enabled us to come together again as a school community. It hasn’t been an easy path, and I’m grateful to all the families, students, and staff for their commitment to education at Lincoln Academy while protecting the health and safety of those around us. We have much to celebrate as we enter this time of Thanksgiving and complete the first major academic milestones of the 2020-2021 school year.
The weather has gotten colder and we are looking ahead to the winter months and getting creative with our activity plans. Pandemic precautions will keep us close to campus and limit our interactions with people outside of the Residential Life Community, BUT Maine is a delight for anyone interested in winter sports and there will be opportunities for students to get outdoors to enjoy skiing, ice skating, sledding, ice fishing, and snowshoeing. Winter in Maine is also a time to embrace cozy indoor activities and perhaps find a new creative outlet. I encourage students to take advantage of activities on campus in the Fitness Center, Clay Studio, and Applied Technology and Engineering Center.
An important reminder to let us know about any plans for December Break. Travel is restricted and all plans must be submitted to the Residential Life Office by November 20. After this date, we will plan for the student to remain on campus.
Best regards,
