Winter vacation is upon us and this past week has certainly felt wintery here in Maine. We have now made it to an important benchmark in the school year, having finished four months of classes and many new experiences in an unprecedented year. When we return to school in January, only three weeks will remain until the midpoint in the school year.
During the two weeks of break, students will have opportunities to adventure outdoors with skiing, sledding, and sightseeing and also have some quiet time to relax and be ready for classes to resume on January 5th. We currently plan to return to a hybrid schedule after the break and you should expect your next update from Residential Life to be sent on January 10th.
As you can see from the photos, in addition to the wintery weather, we’ve also had some holiday fun decorating and a traditional gift swap game in the dorm. These young adults hold each other up, support each other, and know how to celebrate together, even when they need to hold much of the rest of the world at a distance.
As we embark on this long holiday vacation, I am reminded of how thankful I am to have this opportunity to live and work with such a diverse, unique, and amazing group of young people. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with all of us here at Lincoln Academy. I look forward to welcoming the start of 2021 with all of you!
Best regards,
