White Water and Academics

We are just returning from an amazing day on the Kennebec River!  19 students and three staff took part in a white water rafting adventure full of excitement, teamwork, and fresh air.   We had 3 guided rafts and everyone enjoyed the excitement of class 1-4 rapids and even some swimming in the river and cool freshwater pools.  What a perfect kick-off to the month of October here in Maine.  More photos here:

October 7th marks the halfway point in the first trimester of school.  Parents can follow along with their student’s academic progress using the online learning management system Canvas. Res Life staff do weekly grade checks for each student, prioritizing academic work as appropriate.  Our program includes an evening study hall each night before a school day. If a student falls behind academically, we add more study hall time and work closely with the student and their teachers to develop a plan for academic success.

Please be on the lookout for your student’s mid-trimester grade report later this month.  We will also be sharing final trimester report cards three times each year.  If you have any specific questions about your child’s academic progress and future plans, please reach out to Career and Academic Counselor, Jose Cordero.  Jose works closely with Res Life to support students on course schedules, academic support, and college counseling.  Jose will also be offering several college trips this year.
