Residential Life Update – December 19, 2021

Happy Holidays!

Midcoast Maine was blanketed in snow overnight forcing everyone to slow down and enjoy the beauty of winter.  This peaceful snowfall was a welcome ending to a very busy week.  We have 16 students spending the holiday break with families in Maine and have helped another 14 students depart to destinations around the world over the past few days.  Thank you to all the families who helped us coordinate the many details of these departures.

The dorms are quiet.  Dorm families and school staff are now making their own holiday preparations, gathering with their loved ones, and enjoying quiet and restful holiday celebrations.   I look forward to having everyone back with us in January when we will also be welcoming six new students to the Residential Life program.

Be on the lookout for our next newsletter on January 9 and in the meantime wishing all of our students and families a restful break and a very Happy New Year!

Winter Camp Reminder

There are two more school vacations this year:

  • Winter Vacation: February 19 – 27, 2022
  • Spring Vacation: April 16-24, 2022

The dormitory will be closed for both of these school vacations and you must make plans for your student to be off-campus for these dates.

If your student does not have travel plans for the Winter Vacation they can register for Winter Camp at Kieve-Wavus Leadership School.  The camp is located on beautiful Damariscotta Lake and activities will include snowshoeing, skiing, skating, tobogganing, relaxing by the fire, hot cocoa, and art museums. The program fee for winter camp is $850. Please register today so we can reserve a space for your student!

Support the Class of 2022

The Class of 2022 has had limited ability to fundraise for their senior expenses including cap & gown and yearbook. Please consider making a donation to support them and help reduce their costs. Gifts can be made online through our annual fund with a designation to the class, or submit cash or checks to the main office. Checks should be made out to Lincoln Academy with “Class of ‘22” in the memo. Please feel free to forward this information to family and friends interested in supporting our seniors.
