Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful vacation.

As we headed into break our girls basketball team traveled to Portland and lost a nail biter of a tournament game to Spruce Mountain. Congrats to Coach Feltis and the girls, it was an excellent season and one to be celebrated.

LA wrestlers continued their success with Jaden Lafreneye winning the State Class B title at 145 pounds. Adam St Cyr finished second (105 pounds) and senior Corbin Drake finished fourth (195 pounds). Haley Clifford also placed third at the Girls State wrestling meet. Congrats to the wrestlers and Coach St Cyr.

There has been some significant revision in guidance from the CDC recently regarding masking recommendations in indoor spaces. The DOE is planning an update to their Standard Operating Procedures by the end of the week, and we are discussing plans to revise our indoor masking policy based on community transmission. We are working to take all perspectives into account, including faculty, staff, students, and medical professionals, as we look ahead to new masking guidelines. We will send out an update by Friday with updates.

I am optimistic about our spring trimester and look forward to warm weather, spring sports (sign-ups started this week!), and celebrating the class of 2022.

Be well and stay safe,
