Members of the Lincoln Academy Class of 2021 toss their caps. This year’s graduation will return to campus after two years of Covid disruption.
After two years of alternate graduation plans caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Lincoln Academy’s Senior Week events, including Commencement, will move back to the LA campus in 2022.
“It is important to us to return to LA tradition, which is to host graduation on our beautiful campus on Academy Hill,” said Head of School Jeff Burroughs.
Graduation Week festivities begin on Tuesday, May 31 with Senior Tea. Senior Tea is an event hosted by the faculty for graduating seniors and their families.
Class Night, including the presentation of scholarships for graduates, will take place on Wednesday, June 1 at 6:30 pm. The traditional Baccalaureate March from downtown up Academy Hill to LA and Baccalaureate Ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 2. Graduates will gather downtown at 6 pm and the ceremony will begin at 7 pm. Commencement will take place on Friday, June 3 at 4 pm.
Weather permitting, these events will happen outdoors on the Stanley Waltz Track Field at LA’s Pavillion, an outdoor event structure that was new in 2021, and be open to the public. Rain dates and/or locations will be announced as needed on the LA website where you can also find more details about each event.
