On Saturday, September 24 at 9 am the Lincoln Academy Cross Country Team will host a 5K race on the LA trails. This is the third LA Homecoming Weekend 5K, a tradition that is resuming after a two-year hiatus in 2020 and 2021.

Registration will begin at 8:15 am on race day in Lincoln Academy’s lower back parking lot between the baseball field and tennis courts. There is no registration fee, but voluntary donations will support the LA Cross Country Team. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers, with an extra prize drawing for people who celebrate their Eagle Pride by racing in black and white. All ages and skill levels from walkers to occasional joggers to competitive runners are encouraged to participate.

The LA cross country team is off to a great start, with both girls and boys teams winning their first two meets of the season. The team’s only home meet of the 2022 season will kick off LA Homecoming Weekend on Thursday, September 22, with the boys race at 4 pm and the girls race at 4:30 pm. Spectators can watch the meet from the parking lot near the LA baseball field.

Members of the LA cross country team will be on hand at the Homecoming Hustle to help out on the course and run along with friends, family, and fans.
