This year’s seniors were freshmen at the last traditional Lincoln Academy Homecoming Weekend. Pictured leading the saxophone section are current seniors Nick Archer and Liam Card. The 2022 Homecoming Parade will march through downtown Damariscotta on Friday, September 23 at 5:30 pm.
Lincoln Academy’s 2022 Homecoming takes place September 22-25 this year. Events will include the traditional parade and home contests in every sport. This year’s Homecoming theme is Disco and the 70s.
Homecoming weekend kicks off Thursday, September 22 with a home cross country meet. The race begins at the LA baseball field, with boys running at 4 pm and girls at 4:30 pm.
On Friday, September 23, the traditional Homecoming Parade will begin at 5:30 pm in front of Bath Savings Bank, featuring all athletic teams, the traditional Spirit Float, and the LA marching band. The parade will march down Main Street and up Academy Hill to LA, where–new this year!–the LA Field Hockey team will have a Homecoming game under the lights at 6:30 pm on William A. Clark field. From 7:30-10 PM there will be a student Homecoming dance in the gym.
On Saturday, September 24, all LA soccer teams will host traditional Homecoming rival Medomak Valley High School starting at 1 pm on Clark field: Girls JV at 1 pm, boys JV at 3 pm, girls varsity at 5 pm, and boys varsity at 7 pm. Game admission for JV games is $2 for adults/$1 for students, and for varsity games $3 for adults/$1 for students, with children under five admitted free. Gate admission benefits the Lincoln Academy Alumni Council.
All varsity field hockey and soccer games will be live streamed on the LCTV website.
Available concessions will include: fries, drinks, hot dogs, burgers, ice cream, and pies sold by the LA Boosters and Alumni Council. The Class of 2023 will sell LA-themed apparel as a class fundraiser.
On Sunday, September 25 the homecoming Golf Scramble and cookout will take place at the Wawenock Country Club at 8:30 am. Please contact Phil Page at page@lincolnacademy.org or 207-563-3596 ext 2123 to register a team for the event.
At 2pm on Sunday 25 at the Lincoln Academy Track Field Pavilion, there will be a free performance by local band The Gulch performing rock hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. This event is sponsored by Lincoln County Community Television.
2022 will be the first time since 2019 that LA will host a complete Homecoming weekend without Covid restrictions. The public is welcome at all athletic events and the parade, as well as the Sunday concert.
