On Saturday November 5th, a dozen students from the Lincoln Academy Chapter of the National Honor Society and the Residential Life Program volunteered their time to wrap presents for the children of military, veterans and first responders. This project is a new collaboration between the Lincoln Academy Chapter of the National Honor Society and Task Force Veteran Visits, and seeks to organize and wrap gifts for over 150 children each season.
Each child receives at least a dozen gifts through the program, and all must be wrapped in time to be sent to families across America before the holiday season begins. John Cannon, NHS Advisor and English teacher, coordinated the students and brought Christmas music, hot cocoa and cookies.
Lynda Petersen, Task Force Veteran coordinator, brought a dozen large bags of unwrapped presents, wrapping paper and good cheer, saying “The students who volunteered their time this morning did a beautiful job and wrapped dozens more presents than I expected.”
