Residential Life Update – January 23, 2023

2023-01-23T15:42:10-05:00January 23, 2023|

Winter has come slowly here in Maine with warmer than usual temperatures and lots of rain to start the season, but snow has finally arrived with 8 inches predicted for today, a true “snow day.”  A snow day is when the roads are deemed unsafe for local travel and classes are canceled to keep everyone home and safe.  In the dorm this is particularly fun as it creates a full day off with friends and freshly fallen snow.  We are in the middle of a 1, 2, 3 punch of winter storms.  This snow certainly increases the feeling of winter and makes for some big fun as students get to ride in sleds down hills, learn to ski, and explore some of Maine’s best ski destinations.

Over the weekend, in addition to enjoying the fresh snow, we celebrated Lunar New Year with cooking, sharing traditions, and fireworks!  Some students also attended a Maine Celtics Basketball game.

Travel plans for February Break are now due!  Please be sure your student has entered their travel plans for February Break in Orah.   You may also now submit travel plans for April Vacation.  Please let us know if you have any questions!
