Lincoln Academy’s 2023 Winter Carnival brought back traditions missing for the last several years, most of all, all classes in the gym for competition. After a hard-fought battle with the sophomores (who came within 100 points of winning the week’s competition) the Class of 2023 prevailed thanks to tight Dodgeball, Class Karaoke, and Tug of War victories as well as winning the Coin Slam and Food Drive. The week’s victor was not decided until the very last competition on Friday afternoon.

“It’s always nice when the seniors win Winter Carnival,” said Mr. Page at the end of a spirited week. “But most of all it’s great to see students with so much school spirit.”

Monday’s dress up was “Soccer Mom and Barbeque Dad” and the afternoon game was the traditional obstacle course (more photos at the links)

Tuesday, February 14th’s dress up day was (conveniently) Valentines Day, and the game was Quiz Bowl

Wednesday was “Character Day” with Musical Chairs as the morning game.

Thursday’s dress up theme was “Maine Wintah” and the afternoon game was a hard fought volleyball tournament with a surprise victory by a very strong sophomore team.

Friday’s Winter Carnival Dress Up was, of course, the classic Black and White, and the afternoon games included dodgeball, tug of war, new this year! Class Karaoke, and also a pep rally sendoff for the boys basketball team headed for the state tournament. It was a great way to end the week!
