Spring Ahead
We have begun the third trimester of the school year. Students may be starting new elective classes this week and grade reports for trimester two will soon be arriving by email. Please let us know if you have any questions about academic progress heading into the final grading period of the year.
It still looks like winter out the window, but longer daytime hours promise that spring is around the corner! We are looking forward to special seasonal activities including Maine’s maple syrup harvest, prom, visiting the botanical gardens, spring concerts and recitals, and exploring coastal towns and villages.
Plans for April Break Due! The dorms will be closed from April 15-23. Please submit your plans for the vacation in Orah now and let the Residential Life Office know if you have any questions.

FRESHMEN:
Bath Tech is offering a FREE summer program for rising sophomores (current ninth graders) focusing on Science, Tech, Engineering, Art, and Math. Students can take part in their choice of programming including: Automotive, Culinary/Baking, Welding, Carpentry, Graphic Design, Electricity, and Cosmetology. Transportation can be provided, please inquire. CAC recommends that students with any interest in attending Voc in the future take advantage of this opportunity. Applications have been given to freshman advisors.
SOPHOMORES:
Bath Regional Career and Technical Center applications can be found in CAC and are due to Alexa Abbott by 3/10/23 (THIS FRIDAY).
Sophomores who signed up for the PSAT10 scheduled for March 23, 2023, need to submit their payment ($18) ASAP. Those students who are paying by check or paying with the exact cash amount, can submit their payment to Alexa Abbott in CAC. Those students (or parents) paying with a credit card can call Lori Wright in the Business Office (207-563-1675 x 2105) with their credit card information and will be charged $20.
Rotary Youth Leadership Award is an opportunity for sophomores to develop leadership skills at a summer leadership camp with other students from around Maine. Please explore the website here, and application materials and brochure here. Applications are due 3/31/23.
JUNIORS:
School Counselors will be meeting with juniors individually to further discuss their life after Lincoln Academy plans. School counselors will help students reflect on their previous three years, their future goals, and explore varying options. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to your student’s school counselor.
Juniors who are considering four year college or university, please log into your Collegeboard account and sign up for the SAT. Counselors will speak with juniors about standardized testing during their junior meeting, but they are being encouraged to sign up for the May SAT at LA (the May SAT will only be open to LA students) or test dates that work best with students’ personal schedules. Please reach out to your counselor if you have questions or concerns.
SENIORS:
Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) will be hosting a virtual session for Lincoln Academy seniors and their families on Wednesday, March 15th at 6:30pm (https://famemaine.zoom.us/j/
Scholarships are updated regularly and posted in Naviance! Encourage your senior to check often. Additionally the CAC office will be running a FLB that will meet weekly to give seniors time to research and apply for scholarships. FLB’s have been shared with students, but feel free to speak with your senior about this option.
Please continue to check your online portals at the colleges and universities where you applied. If materials are missing, we have electronic receipts for all submitted materials from LA and can help. Colleges and universities might be asking for Mid-Year reports. These are not the same as mid-trimester grades. LA does not send mid-trimester grades. We only send end of trimester grades. If you receive a request for a mid-year report, please email your admission officer and remind them that we are on trimesters, and confirm that your first trimester grades have been submitted. In addition, if you think your mid-tri grades represent you well, please feel free to share these grades with your admission officer, and provide them with any updates since submitting your application.
