Lincoln Academy students stack wood for a cause! A team of four students and Mr. Abbott stacked about 4 cord of wood over the weekend for the CHiP wood processing lot at NC Hunt in Jefferson.

Lincoln Academy Dean of Students Jake Abbott and four student volunteers spent part of their weekend stacking wood for local residents that need heating assistance this winter. They worked at the CHiP (Community Housing Improvement Project) wood processing lot at NC Hunt in Jefferson.

“We had a lot of fun,” said Mr. Abbott, “and there is more wood to stack! We hope to get more students out next time–this is a great opportunity to get outside, work with friends, and make a real difference for our neighbors.”

Students should watch for more opportunities to volunteer this fall by checking Mr. Abbott’s Community Service newsletter.
