Dear Lincoln Academy Community,

We made the decision to cancel classes again today as the situation is still unfolding after events in Lewiston. While I hoped we could open today and get back to normal, schools around the state made the decision to close, including AOS93, and I did not feel we could ask our faculty and student families to divide their plans and their attention during this time.

This afternoon the two teams still playing in the postseason, boys varsity soccer and boys and girls varsity cross country, will practice on campus. This evening, our fall play, The Crucible, will open as scheduled in Poe Theater.

This situation is challenging to navigate: we are trying to balance safety with returning to the community and the routines that keep us connected. School will reopen on Monday, October 30. We will monitor the situation closely in conjunction with our school resource officer, and put   additional safety protocols in place as needed.

Meanwhile, the events that were postponed are rescheduled as follows:

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place next Thursday, November 2.
  • The Crucible will open tonight (Friday) at 7 pm. Thursday’s ticket holders have been rescheduled to see an additional performance at 3 pm on Sunday, October 29.
  • Boys soccer will play at Cape Elizabeth on Tuesday, October 31 at 5 pm.
  • The Class B State Championship Cross Country Meet will take place at Belfast’s Troy Howard Middle School on Saturday, November 4 at 11 am.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your flexibility and support during this difficult time.
