Thanksgiving Greetings to All!
We have had a positive start to a year full of academic, athletic, and artistic achievements. Our students have created meaningful relationships within the dorm, as well as with dorm staff and faculty. These relationships provide the support and guidance students need to cope with the stressors of academic and community life. In this final week of the trimester, we will continue to support our students as they complete projects, assignments and exams with strength and confidence. Please be in contact with your son or daughter about any academic concerns and let us know if you need assistance. First Trimester grades will be send out mid-week, after the Thanksgiving break.
Please be aware that Lincoln Academy is closed next week, although the dorm will remain open. We will facilitate a host of activities for residential students including volunteer opportunities, shopping trips, movie outings, and a trip to Boston. On Wednesday, the whole dorm will travel to Camp Kieve to celebrate Thanksgiving as a group. On Thursday, Thanksgiving day, each student will be hosted by a faculty, friend or neighbor of Lincoln Academy. This unique opportunity allows students to experience the holiday in a family setting. We are grateful for our greater Lincoln Academy community for opening their homes to our international students.
Please remind your students to submit their December vacation plans in Orah by Friday. You will be asked to approve their travel plans by responding to the Orah email. Thank you to those families who have already submitted their plans!
Upon return from the Thanksgiving break, we will only have three school weeks before the December Holiday break. Aside from meeting their academic demands, students will be provided opportunities to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and experience holiday foods and traditions.
In the spirit of this holiday, we thank you for sharing your students, who enrich our Lincoln Academy community greatly. Be well and take care.
