Two Lincoln Academy students were selected as Students of the Semester at the Bath Regional Career and Technical Center (BRCTC) for the fall 2023 semester. LA Junior Tyson Ball and senior Tate Whitmore were chosen by the BRCTC faculty to receive this honor.
Tyson Ball is a junior studying Electricity. According to the teachers who nominated him, Tyson “brings the best effort in any program. With his 100% attendance comes 100% great attitude. He is hungry to learn and driven for success. Tyson has an infectious enthusiasm that spreads throughout the class. His skill and knowledge are stellar and he uses that to support his peers.”
Tate Whitmore is a senior, also studying electricity. According to his teachers, “Tate has excelled in the electrical program at Bath Tech. As a successful student he will be representing our school at the SkillsUSA competition. He has a quiet competitiveness that gives him the edge in whatever he is doing. He has an eye for detail that will ensure his success as an electrician. Very few have the ‘kind strength’ that Tate has. He is a great peer and leader.”
31 LA juniors and 23 seniors currently attend BRCTC for courses including carpentry, early childhood development, culinary, medical sciences, cosmetology, and welding, as well as electricity.
“I’m proud of Tyson and Tate for being selected, and not at all surprised,” said Lincoln Academy Head of School Jeff Burroughs. “They are hardworking and motivated students both here at LA, and at Bath Tech. All of our students participating in programming at Bath are so fortunate to have access to their excellent facility and high quality training.”
Lincoln Academy sophomores interested in attending BRCTC next year should talk to the Career and Academic Counseling Office.
