Mr. Abbott has been a part of the Lincoln Academy community for twelve years and has lived on campus for the last four as a Dorm Parent. He has taught in and administered the school’s Alternative Education Program and the Work-Based Learning Program. He has also guided the process of implementing Restorative Practices at Lincoln Academy. Mr. Abbott enthusiastically supports student leadership and seeks to ensure that all students have a voice. He advises the Freshman Mentor Program, Lincoln Academy Leadership Corps, is active with the Outing Club and is currently working to develop a community-based Teen Mentoring Program to better support teens as they transition from middle to high school and into life after Lincoln Academy. Mr. Abbott lives in Hall House with his family, two dogs, and 26 residential boys. He is an active member of the Newcastle Volunteer Fire Department, serves on the Board of Directors for the CLC YMCA and is a Community Justice Partner with the Restorative Justice Project of the MidCoast. For relaxation, he enjoys quiet time with his family, cooking, gardening, camping, skiing and any opportunity to be outdoors enjoying the natural world. Mr. Abbott has a passion for travel and a goal to explore every continent. He plans to someday through-hike the Appalachian Trail.
