Lourdes Von Vogt
Lourdes Rodriguez-Von Vogt was born in Chicago of Puerto Rican parents. As a first generation Puerto Rican, she grew up immersed in two worlds, linguistically, physically and culturally, that of Chicago and Puerto Rico.. Lourdes studied her junior year in Barcelona, Spain where she met her husband, Carl. She has since studied in Paris, France (Alliance Française), Perugia, Italy (Università per Stranieri), and Quebec City, Canada (Université Laval). Prior to coming to Lincoln Academy in 1990, she taught Italian in Chicago at the University of Illinois, and Spanish at Gordon Technical High School. In total, she has taught 35 yrs. In 2005, Lourdes was a finalist for the Maine Teacher of the Year. Lourdes and Carl live in South Bristol and have twin sons, Michael and Matthew, who are also Lincoln Academy graduates. Her interests include singing in a choral group, dancing, cooking, travel, playing tennis, and cycling. She is also an AP Consultant and is currently on the AP Spanish Language and Culture Test Development Committee.
