Jake Abbott has been a part of the LA community since 2006. Jake has worked in a variety of roles at the school. Jake supports the operations of the school, shares in the management of student discipline, and supports many student programs, extra-curricular activities and initiatives to get students involved in learning and exploring new opportunities. Jake is also responsible for the school's residential population, working closely with the Director of Residential Life and the various departments that support it. Jake is also very involved in the local community serving as a member of the Newcastle Fire Department, where is also on the Board of Trustees.

Mrs. Tan has worked at Lincoln Academy since 2019 when she and her family moved in as a dorm family. Mrs. Tan moved into the role of Director of Resident Life in 2022. She loves working with teenagers and learning about their culture and countries. Before LA, she was a dorm director and college counselor in San Francisco, a biology teacher in Malaysia and at different times an elementary and middle school Math and Science teacher in Texas. In her spare time she loves traveling, reading, crafting and pottery, growing things, and watching Korean dramas.

Jose Cordero : School Counselor

Mr. Cordero grew up among the lobstermen and women of Owls Head Maine.   He spent his youth playing music, participating in theater and dreaming of one day working for NASA.  Eventually finding passion within education he turned his focus toward college by attaining his Masters Degree in Higher Education Student Development and then spending 15 years working in college admission, academic advising, new student orientation and multicultural student affairs.  He's recently returned to his roots here in Maine after working for the University of California-Berkeley.  Mr. Cordero serves Lincoln Academy students as a School Counselor and mentor.  In his time off he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young and adorable sons, sailing, working on old cars, and taking long road trips.

Sarah Kennedy : Outreach and Administrative Assistant

Sarah Kennedy '00 grew up in Pemaquid and studied Spanish and International Relations at the University of Maine and University of Costa Rica.  She coordinated volunteer education programs and fundraising for a small non-profit organization in Nicaragua and then went on to join Sustainable Harvest International as the Director of Development and later transitioned to directing the organization's outreach and service learning programs in Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua, and Panama.  In 2012, Sarah took a position with Santa Clara University's Center of Sustainability to develop school garden and community nutrition programs in San Jose City Schools.

In 2013, Sarah’s family had the opportunity to return to Maine and was excited to become a part of Lincoln Academy’s new Residential Program. Sarah developed LA’s homestay program and loves welcoming students from around the globe to our community here in the Midcoast. Sarah works part-time in the Residential Life Office and is also a member of LA’s Website Team.
