Cathi Howell began her career as a school librarian in her own hometown at Livermore Falls High School in western Maine, and is thrilled to continue her work at Lincoln Academy. She is passionate about promoting a culture of reading within the school community and connecting students with great books. She hopes that every student and faculty member will look to the Lincoln Academy Library as his or her very own “Room of Requirement” and strives to support the academic needs and personal interests of all. In addition to reading, Howell enjoys spending time with family, cooking, gardening, quilting, traveling and running. Howell has two daughters who live and work in Boston; Caryn who teaches AP US history and Laura who works in health-care research. She and her husband Jef (LA ‘77), Purchasing Manager at Verso Corporation, live in New Harbor where she is often seen running along the beautiful Pemaquid Trail or walking to the beach with good book in hand.

She became the Teen Librarian at Skidompha Library in 2008 and worked with local teens to create engaging programming and a comfortable, welcoming space for teens in the library. Jen is excited to continue her work at Lincoln Academy. When not in the library or curled up with a good book, Jen enjoys spending time with her family, boating, and hiking.
