The Brady Lab is seeking a full-time summer intern interested in in fisheries science to join their Lobster supply chain research team. Seeking a a current undergraduate in biology, marine biology or a related field. The successful applicant will be a hardworking individual who is very flexible with work hours, can complete tasks without supervision and in a timely manner and can handle live lobsters. Laboratory and/or field experience is preferred. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and a familiarity with databases. A reliable vehicle and driver’s license are required. Healthy Lincoln County VISTA Americorps position (gap year opportunity)

Healthy Lincoln County, a nonprofit community-based organization, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the Maine Department of Agriculture as an approved site for an Americorps VISTA Food Security Coordinator position. This position is part of Maine’s commitment to be hunger-free by 2030. The VISTA Coordinator will help build the capacity of Healthy Lincoln County’s food security system by strengthening partnerships with 15+ local food security efforts through increased efficiencies and coordination. The VISTA member will be a one-year paid position, beginning in early April 2021. The VISTA member will help identify present and ongoing needs and opportunities for improving coordination and community-based efforts to close the meal gap in Lincoln County. The VISTA member will also develop best practice guides for operations, ensuring sustainability and will work with other HLC staff and volunteers to enhance and expand awareness and reach of Lincoln County food security efforts. Sailing Instructor, Sailing Assistant & Science Assistant Summer Job Opportunities: Full Time/Seasonal Position: June 7, 2021 – August 29, 2021 (negotiable)

BSSC is looking for Sailing Instructors, Sailing Assistants, and Science Assistants who have experience working with youth, a demonstrated proficiency in sailing, and/or interest in the marine sciences, and a work ethic and teaching style the engenders safety and learning while having fun.  Self-motivation, a strong sense of responsibility to others, willingness to be a team player as well as proven skills working with youth of all ages is expected*. Sailing Instructors, Sailing Assistants, and Science Assistants are responsible for assisting with the implementation of an integrated Sea and Science Program that embraces hands-on experiential learning activities in boating, sailing, and the marine sciences.  *Sailing Instructor leadership opportunities.
