Camp Mummichog is seeking Junior Counselors

Camp Mummichog is a nature-adventure day camp, where nature education comes in many forms: hands-on exploration, physical activity, art, music, writing, games and more. It is 100% outdoors, and includes a weekly day-trip to local preserves. The Camp Junior Counselor assists with all aspects of camp operations and education. Topics include natural history, ecology, marine biology, Wabanaki culture, and outdoor living skills. Campers will range from 6-14 years old.

Hours: 35 hours per week, 8:30am to 3:30-4:30pm (including unpaid lunch), June 24-August 23
Compensation: $17/hour
Required Benefits (paid for by Coastal Rivers):

  • Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Certification
  • CPR Certification

Requirements:

  • Must be 15+ years of age at the start of the camp season
  • Strong communication skills with youth, parents, and staff
  • Must be able to walk 3 miles at a rigorous pace, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must pass a federal and state background check

Coastal Kids Preschool is Hiring for Summer!

Our Summer Program is about enjoying outdoor activities like water play, creative craft  projects, walks on our nature trail through the woods, etc. This is open to students that are 17+.  Our Summer Program runs form June 21st through August 18th. Afterschool fall employment  may also become an option for those who qualify!

Requirements:

  • If over 18 must be DHHS Fingerprinted (we can help with that)
  • Must be able to lift over 50lbs
  • Must be comfortable with young children
  • Ready and excited to learn new skills

Hours we are open are 7:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday. Part-time and Full-time schedules are available. Schedule can be modified to fit needs

Starting pay is $14.50

Johns River Oysters: Oyster Farm  Seasonal Help

Johns River Oyster is a local family owned Aquaculture Company seeking hard working, dependable and honest people that enjoy working on the water. We grow oysters in both Damariscotta and Pemaquid and employees work at both sites. This could be a summer or full time job!

Duties include:

  • Flipping floating cages in boats
  • Sorting oysters by size using hydraulic graders
  • Counting oysters
  • Filling bags for sale

Other tasks may include:

  • Tending a diver
  • Navigating a skiff (when employee has demonstrated enough boating knowledge)
  • Local deliveries if needed
  • Coveralls and boots are required and employees must know how to swim.
  • Boating skill are desired but not required.
  • Employee must provide water and food.
  • Drivers license and a way to get to work is also necessary

Hours are 7:30 – 4:30 Monday – Friday
Competitive pay based on experience and effort starting at $21.00 per hour.

Hardy Boat Cruises: Season Parking Lot Attendant

The role of Parking Attendant is to be responsible for efficient parking lot management. Parking Attendants will collect payments, direct cars into open parking spaces, and efficiently convey the parking process to customers. Importantly, Parking Attendants provide guests with a positive, friendly parking experience.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people and want to provide a best-in-class customer experience. You will work with the leadership team to coordinate all “onshore” guest experiences. Reservation software training and customer service training is provided.

Boatyard Service Technician – Full-Time, Year-Round

Padebco Full-Service Boatyard & Custom Boat Builders seeks a general laborer to join our crew. We’re seeking self-motivated team players with “can do” attitudes, who will ask questions, take pride in their work, and want to advance by learning new skills. You must have a strong work ethic, be dependable, be able to multi-task and have a basic knowledge of boats. Experience is a plus, but we will train promising candidates.

Successful candidates must work well with others, be detail-oriented, work safely and efficiently, and provide quality service to our boating clients. You must be comfortable lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, engaging in heavy physical labor for extended periods of time, working from a kneeling position, and wearing a respirator. Conditions of employment include; background check, valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean record, COVID vaccination preferred, and authorization to work in the United States.

Work may include but is not limited to: Winterizing and commissioning outboards, engines, and systems, Prepping and painting boat bottoms, Hauling and launching boats, Prepping boats for storage and launching, Cleaning, buffing, and polishing boats

Experience or skills in one or more of the following a plus: Outboard, small engine, and/or diesel engine repair and maintenance, Carpentry, Fiberglass, Electrical, Plumbing, Paint, varnish / brightwork, Previous experience in a boatyard

This is a full-time, year-round position in a fast-paced yard; you must be able to work with minimal supervision with a like-minded crew. We offer competitive pay based on experience, benefits, retirement, paid vacation, and holiday pay.

Padebco has been servicing boats and building custom Downeast-style boats in Round Pond, Maine for over 65-years.
